My post the other day- creativity vs womanhood- earned me quite a few emails the past few days.
Apparently I'm not alone in these struggles! I'm so grateful for the support, well wishes, and for your courage to share your stories with me as well.
I'm thankful for your voices.
the post was about my struggles being creative when I feel lacking as a woman-
something that surfaced up over at soulodge this past week.
I'm finding, however, that discipline is keeping me moving forward.
cold discipline seems easily dismissed these days, but I've done my greatest work during the grind.
write every day, even when the words aren't there.
sit down at the piano or pull out the guitar, even when the melody doesn't flow.
knead the bread, not surprised that it doesn't rise....again.

create, create, create.
it's a daily practice.
and I suppose,
so is womanhood.
thank you for your emails/comments.
for your wisdom, advice, vulnerability, and strength.
we are not the patron saints of lost causes.
we're burning bright,
redemptive creatrixes as we move.
