We got the bathroom painted yesterday...and when midnight rolled around, somehow the idea of painting the living room wall seemed like an awesome game plan. My tired bones today disagree.
Martha Stewart's "Driftwood" from Home Depot. It depends on the lighting if I like it or not. I like a good solid grey- without a blue or purple tint. This shade keeps changing on me while the light shifts from the window. I'll spare your the bathroom pictures- we painted it white. Moonrise, actually. Nothing much to show other than.....whiteness.
This living room wall, however, is in some need for some paintings. And as I was going through the stack of paintings that were on the wall, I noticed this:
My reminder to myself didn't work, apparently. Because I think this frame has been pleading for a picture for about three years now. Oops!
In other news: Making my bed challenge? Not so good:
We're on our last day of fasting in the group. I've learned a lot during this first session, and I had an amazing group who were amazing in carrying out their individual fasts, intentions and goals. Not to mention they were quite patient with me as I was figuring out how to lead a group!
This session was intimate, and for me, insanely quick. I felt like I couldn't keep up- which was really me learning that I need to have each daily post finished and post-dated before the course even starts. :) The next group is getting large already and I haven't even opened up registration! So I need to regroup and replan my material delivery, pronto. The physical nature of the fast is important, but I didn't get much of a chance to dive into as much soulwork as I wanted. Michelle, who also participated during this first session was awesome at bouncing some ideas around with me on how to reshape some areas I wasn't happy with (thank you doll, you are amazing!). I really struggle with presenting a rough draft- or at least a project still tumbling and smoothing out the rough edges. But if I hadn't dived in, I'm not sure I would have done the work at all. So I am so insanely blessed to have such an awesome first group who went with the flow so I could learn how I want to teach this practice.
I hope to see you all there, friends, during the August session. The 10 Day Fast is open to partial fasting- raw foods only or a vegan diet during the 10 Days was popular this first session. I learned that I certainly need to do a partial fast while teaching fasting. I'm not much help when I'd get messages on how to deal with hunger when I was craving a hamburger myself!
live and learn- the theme of my life. Exactly how I like it. :)
