We traveled to Bainbridge Island, a thirty minute ferry ride
from Seattle, to look at rental homes.
and goodness.
It is freaking gorgeous.
I’m kinda amazed we get to live here.
The entire island is comprised of a gorgeous forest with long stretches of beach.
But now we wait.
Wait for applications to process so we can get a move on.
and so.
I’m antsy.
We aiming for two homes, but to be completely honest, my heart is set on one.
the first is a sweet older rambler built by a Norwegian boat maker who saw fit
to plant a mini apple & pear orchard on the property. It’s sweet and
lovely, and I’d be more than happy and blessed to live there. I have daydreams
of pie baking.
but then.
there is another home that caught us off guard and popped up at the last
second.
and we’re in love.
simply because the beach is quite literally the backyard. 100 feet of private
beach access trumps any cosmetic flaws (which we’ve yet to see in pictures). It’s
currently being redesigned by the owners, an architect and designer. And
goodness, they have good taste.
The problem is we won’t have a chance to see it before signing a lease agreement because we can’t drive up again until we move. It’s a risk.
Bake pies, or soak up the gorgeous view with my private beach?
…house hunting doesn’t sit well with me. Antsy galore.
But driving around this gorgeous island does. :)
